What Easter Means to Me
Today is Resurrection Day! Why is this such a huge deal? Because this is the day when all the prophecies came to pass, where the Truth was finally revealed, when Jesus completed his life's work. Jesus told his disciples that he'd be back again. He always spoke in parables in a mysterious way. They probably didn't realize something huge was about to happen. They hadn't figured out that his return would be monumental.
I'm so excited because Easter is a day for us to commemorate, remembering the sacrifice that God made for us by sending down his only Son to redeem us. Jesus lived an exemplary life for us so that we'd have an example to life by.
Jesus loved us enough to DIE for us. I don't know about you but that's the kind of love I want. It takes true strength and humility to do that. Jesus was a Prince, the Son of the Most High King. The Bible says the greatest sacrifice you can ever make is to lay down your life for your friend and that's exactly what Jesus did. That's the ultimate act of love. He sacrificed his life so that we wouldn't have to face God's wrath. He redeemed us so that we wouldn't have to pay a price for our sins.
Take this time to remember exactly what Jesus did for you. Remember the nail that pierced through his hands and feet remember the lashes that ripped off his skin & remember the crown of thorns that cut into his flesh. Remember him being lifted onto the cross remember him crying out in pain…he was human just like us. But he was unlike us. He was sent for us. Jesus rose again.
Remember his resurrection. Not just today. But everyday.
